5-Chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one/ MCI/ Methylchloroisothiazoline/ methylchloroisothiazolinone
It is often used in combination with methylisothiazolinone. In the mid-1970s, there were many consumer allergies. Therefore, except for a few products that must be washed away with water immediately after use, general cosmetics are rarely used. As it is irritating to skin and mucous membrane, it is not suitable to be added to products exposed for a long time. If the concentration is too high, it may cause chemical burns. On November 18, 2013, FDA in Taiwan set the limit of 0.0015% and the limit of 0.1% when washing off the product after use.
